A slower hike down toward the water, focused on what is actually growing along the way. Manzanita, madrone, oaks, the wildflowers that only show for a few weeks, and the plants the Nisenan used here long before any of this was called Nevada County.
You will learn to recognize a dozen plants well enough to spot them again on your own for the rest of your life. That is the goal of the walk.
We finish at the river with time to sit before we head back up.
